Event Details
The IEEE KPEC is arranged by the graduate student members of the IEEE Industry Applications Society – Power Electronics Society – Power and Energy Society (IAS-PELS-PES) joint chapter at Kansas State University.
The IEEE KPEC offers a great opportunity to bring together practicing engineers and researchers in both academia and industry all around the world as well as the experts in the industry to investigate future power and energy technologies.
The annual IEEE Kansas Power and Energy Conference (the IEEE KPEC) is a symposium on the research behind technologies for power and energy systems of the future. This coming April, the IEEE KPEC will gather experts from academia and industry to present their latest ideas and engage in professional discussions. Attendees also have an opportunity to build a professional network with experts from the industry and academia and hear about their experiences and knowledge. The 2024 IEEE KPEC will be held hybrid.
2024 IEEE KPEC is advised by Prof. Behrooz Mirafzal whose current research interests include the applications of power electronics in grid-interactive converters and energy conversion systems. In the advising committee, Prof. Anil Pahwa, whose research interest includes reliability, automation, and optimization of power distribution systems, Prof. Fariba Fateh, whose main interest area includes system modeling, linear and nonlinear control, adaptive and intelligent systems control, and Prof. Hongyu Wu, whose research area includes control, operation and planning of power systems including smart grid and microgrids, modeling, optimization and simulation of power systems, and also the grid integration of renewable energy, are serving as conference co-advisors.
